Question 1: If I currently run an athlon 700 with an asus k7m mb, if I'm trying to upgrade my mb and chip to the ecs k7s5a pro and 1800xp, can i just move over my harddrive without reinstalling anything. (Wondering if there are any bios and cmos issues stored on the harddrive)

Question 2: On the Ecs board, there seems to be no 3 prong setup for the Power Led jumpers. They have PWR-SW which i set up. and there is a mention of FP PWR/SLP (MSG LED dual color or single color) but it only allows for two spots where as the provided PWR-SW from my antec box needs three spots, one being a dummy.

Thanks

The harddrive does not store BIOS information, but Windows might freak out from all the new hardware. I usually do a clean install prior to changing something like a motherboard. It's possible for it to work without a format, but it's a good idea to slick the drive before installing the mb.

You may have to get a replacement connector for your power led if it is 3 pin and the ECS only supports 2. Directron sells them.

most cases come with a 3 pin power led connector but ECS only has 2 pins.

Here's what I did when this happened to me,fist find yourself a small needle, then lift up the small tab on the end cable on your 3 pin connector & lift it free.

Now you have a 3 pin connector with 1 wire & one free wire, just connect those 2 & it will work fine,if it doesnt light up just reverse the wires on the 2 pin mobo connection. :)

Easy.
