2 basic mac questions

I was asked these by a friend, and since I have 0% macintosh os knowlege, i need a little hand Are Macs compatible with home grade broadband routers(like a linksys BEFSR41)? For multiplayer gaming on a network consisting of both a windows and a mac on a router sharing a cable connection, would there be any special steps, or would it be more dependent on the games themselves? TCP/IP is the same across the board. You should have few problems, if any if you are planning on using Mac OS X.
