2 bad PSUs in a row?

I've been having some issues with my system (video card dropping video and having core voltage fault & PCI-e Plug B unplugged LEDs lit) at random intervals. Full details can be found in this post http://forums.anandtech.com/showthread.php?t=2054336 . I'm putting this post in the Power Supplies forum because I want to focus on the power supply aspect of this issue. The first PSU that I acquired for this sytem was a BFG GS-550 which this card exhibited these issues with. I decided to get another BFG, yeah I know maybe not too bright, except I got a modular version the BFG GX-550 and my video card is having the same issue. What I want to know is how likely is it that the PSU is the cause of this problem? And with my system setup, posted in the link, which PSUs would you recommend that are in the $50-$60 range over my current PSU if it is indeed the issue? I would love to buy locally to cut down on wait time if at all possible and I do have a MicroCenter nearby because it'd kindof suck to have to wait for another one to be delivered after being without a working gaming PC for over 2 weeks.

It is very UNLIKELY that it's the PSU since you're having the same issue with two PSU's in a row. If the PSU was being over-taxed, it would shut down.

The problem is most likely something else.
