I have 2 5870 installed and cannot figure out how to cable my 3 monitors to work with this config. I have the display port to dvi adapter, so how do I need to plug up my monitors to get all three to work? Your help is appreciated

Do you have the active adapter? If you don't then it will not work. The active adapter is the one that costs 100$ and still doesn't always work, and is always out of stock.

Once you have that plug it up and go to displays choose create display group

I don't think you need an active display adapter if you are already running 2 cards. I imagine you just have to tweak the display settings in the driver. Plug in 2 monitors into 1st card and a 3rd monitor into the 2nd card. My friend is running 3 monitors on 8800GT (2 DVI) and 1 monitor on 7300le (1 VGA). I don't see how this cannot work with 2 ATI cards.

Depends on whether he wants Eyefinity or not.
If he does, it might not work with monitors split across cards.
