Big Zoo

Big Zoo also has 2.9 cents/minute, I've used it for the last year and had no problems since they have added more phone lines. Used to always get busy signals during peak usage hours :(

Actually, onesuite is a better deal than bigzoo. Bigzoo's 2.9 cents/min rate is only available in areas where they offer a non-800 number (ie. a local 7 digit number). For me, I live in the Bay Area where they don't have such a number, I have to use their 800 number and pay 3.9 cents/min. Also, bigzoo charges a 75 cents monthly service fee but onesuite doesn't.

Does onesuite.com offer the snazzy real-time billing and phone call log like bigzoo? I like being able to pull up where I've called and from where and for how long that bigzoo has.

Regardless, I know someone using onesuite and am waiting for my bigzoo.com funds to finish before switching.

Onesuite has all that too, I think I heard that they are actually owned by the same company, just marketed to different niches. Onesuite to business, and bigzoo to personal. One suite has this cool zipdial feature where you tell it your phone number and everytime you call the 800 number it recognizes your phone number and doesn't require you to enter your PIN. You free minutes are told to you before each call and you can track who and where you called online.

DavidTigerFan, looks like you've used their service. May I know how is the quality of the line? Is it clear?

If anyone here has tried their service, please let us know how's the quality of the line.

The international rate is kinda decent too.

[edit]
From FAQ:
What kind of call quality can I expect with OneSuite.com?
The fiber-optic and broadband based OneSuite global telecom network provides you the very highest quality of voice and data transmission for both local and long distance calls.

Anyone has real experience with them?

Other than 1 cent cheaper per minute, no 75 cents monthly charge, and the zip dial feature, onesuite is EXACTLY THE SAME as bigzoo. The web user interface is very similar (you're able to track each call made and the amount charged) and even the recorded message on the 800 number telling you to punch in your code sounds exactly the same.

The line quality is very good. Equal or better in quality than the major carriers like mci.

WJones and all...

The line quality is fine for conversation. I don't know if its just me, but I think I can tell a difference in call quality, but I really have to listen for it. I am not positive, but I think that it uses the technology where nothing is sent across the line unless there is sound...(This is used to minimize bandwidth use because onesuite uses IP line in parts of the calls.) By using this feature its kinda weird because you hear dead silence between talking in stead of the normal background phone noise. Overall I highly recommend it. Too bad they don't have a referral service...=o) (Not that I'd post that here...)

grimas - I've used BigZoo.com (which also runs/owns OneSuite.com). All I can say is good things about their service.

Although they could always use some improvements, such as:
1) Call quality to obscure countries isn't as good as AT&T. However if you're calling within the USA, Canada, Asia, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, etc. it sounds clear and crisp. Why pay a monthly fee for long distance when you can get super low rates?
2) If you call during peak hours their toll free access line is really busy, that's what your redial button is for, use it! After re-dialing about 10 times you finally get through.
3) Remember if you call from a payphone there's a 55 cents connection fee.

Otherwise this is an AWESOME service and you can test it out for only $5, I usually buy my time in increments of $20.

Instead of 2.9 cent a minute, you can use phonefree.com which allows calls anywhere in the us through your PC for free. The reviews for it are ok, and there are also similar sites out there.

At the sign up page, there is a blank for Promotion Code. If any of you have it, can you PM or Email me? Thanks!

To those who do this or similar programs:

What do you do for your regular long distance service on your phone line? Don't they all change minimum fees or at least line charges?

I use onesuite. For my assigned LD provider I had MCI ($150 GC), then switched to ATT ($50 GC) and am about to switch back to onlinechoice.com.

No monthly fee, no minimum, great quality, and low rates, 4.7c state to state. A good backup for when onesuite is jammed.

So I'm switching back to them as soon as my ATT GC arrives. Unless of course a better deal comes up.

Get this... Just wanna say THANKS!! I was with Bigzoo for the longest time... it was hellish... I checked out Onesuite and sign up... so far so good... 2.9¢ no catches!! They actually answer my emails and even call me back to answer my questions... lets hope they keep it up...

I agree with keeping a back up service provider... but so far so good! (Knock on wood)

Customer service gave me a promo code: OSQ

Just sharing the wealth... actually you just get 29¢ extra credit... no big deal..

Keep hunting for those bargains!

Seems LEGIT... I just made a few calls.

Cons: You can't eliminate the balance and minutes left announcement like you can on BIGZOO. Which is kinda of annoying.

PROS: There is a ZIPdial feature which allows you to program up to 3 numbers from which you might call from IE: cell, or home #. The system automatically reconizes its you and all you have to do is dial the number you want. It allows you to skip the pin entering.
SIDEBAR-- This may be of little use if you are using from your cell phone like I am. As I travel from area to area the landline that is handing me off to ONESUITE changes depending where I am or which of the cell companies lines picks me up. Otherwise, it works like a charm from home.

I hope their toll free is less congested than BIGZOO's is from 5-9 pm.

OVERALL, a great find!!!

Thanks for posting about the onlinechoice.com one also. I decided to sign up with them. I was with Qwest (which was good, 5.9cents with no monthly fee), then switched to the MCI $150 deal (but their extra monthly charges are ridiculous)... I don't make many LD calls, most the ones I make are through dialpad.com.

But today signed up with onlinechoice.com (which actually signs you up with GTC Telecom). 4.7 cents a minute with no monthly fees is what I like :) Or at least thats what they claim.

Been using onesuite.com for a few weeks now. My mom uses bigzoo, but then found out that onesuite has better international rates to some countries.

Realtime calling log is great, as is zipdial! no more remembering PINs, just one number.

Hope that these new broadband-based long distance carriers continue to drive prices down, since I can't even tell the difference!
