:)

Let me reiterate a bit/ I am going to get a prescott, but not a 2.8, I am hoping my willpower takes me to 3.4/ either way, I got the insulation for my water lines today, cleaned my dehumid filter, and checked my homemade chiller for problems/ heh,,, let the games begin :D

Good luck Big Lar... That chiller will come in handy to tame the fire breathing Prescott. ;)

Maybe this is a sign that many of the review chips were hand picked.....He could have had a dud...With about 5-6 ppl I know with one coming within dyas we will start to see enough numbers to see if this is true....

The one thing that is going to suck is that the ABIT mobo is so popular we are going to see these insane temps being reported though EVERYBODY knows abit temps are full of shite and the guy talking in that thread about temps getting more accurate as temps rise is also full of shite....This has been tested elsewhere more reliably. Abits are 8-12c higher straight across the board....

Duvie ~ it would be wishful thinking to believe that Asus temps are the correct ones.

If you have read my other post you know I know the ASUS temps are as much false but the other way....I think it is somewhere likely in the middle....

ONe thing most may not know is that the ABIT though may be incorrect in temps the ones being reported still do trigger the throttling at same point...That being said I at one point with my old chip could not get prime95 to be stable and I knew it was the heat. When I turn throttling off in the bios I got it to run stable. It must have been about the reported temp though it may be wrong.....At same time I did not suffer from diminishing returns.....

At this point I don't know what to believe but the fact if Asus's lower temps give the impression and in return may lead to stability I would go with it with a prescott....

PPL with abits need to turn the throttling off in the bios and test this....

yep, my thermal throttle is disabled.
my max temps are 60*C (p95)

the IC7 tends to piss alot of ppl off cause it has so many performance bios options.
(performance options no other boards have)
for B chip OCers its great cause we turn everything on.
but you C chip guys end up having to turn everything off.
at that point the IC7 offers you no performance advantage over any other board.
only when that stuff is enabled, thats when the IC7 shines.

:D
