Hi,

I have a prescott , and i am overclocking it to 3.2Ghz. along with Asus P4P800E-Deluxe

CPU@1.5v
memory@2.65v
agp@1.6v
CPU fan speed@4300rpm
moboard temp@43C(3.2) 38C(@2.8)

the temperature was rised from 39C to 42C when idle.
then i use a cpu stress software called "cpuburn" (cpu utilization 100%)

the temperature rise from 52C(@2.8) to 55C(3.2)

but now the problem, i use Sissoftware sandra to detect the cpu, it reports it as a 2.8e
when i right click on "my computer" it said 2.8e @2.8
however, i use 3dmark03 and click on detail, then it says 2.8e @3.2

hmm... not all software reports it as 3.2ghz... is it normal?

actually what is the right tempurature (or comfortable) for a cpu? to last a year or 2?

I am using stock HSF.. no high tech ventilation is added. Just 3 fans in total are mounted in the case.(2 rear and 1 front)

thanks

Run CPU-Z, that will report what your chip is running at, fsb and overall speed.
