2.5mm to 3.5mm adapter from the Egg?

Anyone know if Newegg sells 2.5mm to 3.5mm stereo adapters for phones? I need to get one for the wife's Treo 650, so she can listen to music on the subway...

Apparently not. I actually tried one the other day, and they had no idea what I was even talking about. Now, I know that the quality between them is... considerable, but running from Rat Shack to Rat Shack is not exactly my idea of fun.

Darn shipping charge will eat you alive if the egg has it.

The reason I picked Newegg out was because I was planning on getting some stuff from them already - tacking on a small adapter isn't a huge deal.

just look around in the adapters and jacks section. When you see the Y-headphone adapters, you're close. I know, I asked my local RadioShack for one of these too and the guy had no idea what I was saying.

I think RShack classifies 3.5mm as 1/8", so I guess it would be a 2.5mm -> 1/8" adapter, but I should be wrong.

In any case, you should know the approximate sizes of the plugs, so bring a few samples in and look around.

I'll give that a shot next time I'm at one, then. Worst that happens is that I pull out my own phone, and tell 'em to figure out the adapter to make headphones plug into it.

Yeah, they might have had a clue if you had rephrased thusly: I need an adapter that will let me use my standard headphones on my MP3 player. But the link posted by Nohr is it. You can check if it's in stock at your local stores on the RS web site (search on part no.) and go to one where it's in-stock. Take part no. with you - those doofs can understand that if nothing else works...

I did manage to find one - as Nohr stated, 3/32" was the magic number for 2.5mm.

I still think it is _really dumb_ that they couldn't have told me this the first time.
