2 5400 RPM Hds in Raid 0

im looking at some new Hard drives and was wondering if two 5400 rpm drives in raid 0 would be faster than a 7200 rpm drive

Probably...

But, the question you should ask yourself is:

Does doubling the risk of data loss justify the increase in speed?

Depends more on drive models you are comparing actually. Unless you are doing something that demands high sustained transfer rates, I'd just go with a single drive. Cheaper, cooler, probably more responsive and more reliable.

i store alot of Mp3s and Divx Movies and i put them all on CDS so if my HDs crash i still have all my stuff on cds and i could just reinstall al of my games...i also backup any thing else on cds like school stuff.....
