2.53 P4 C1 Stepping BOX RETAIL proc found!

Hi, as far as i know so far no one has obtained a 2.53 p4 C1 stepping "retail box." People had been finding them OEM, but that process can be sort of icky (buying a dell just for a proc seems a waste to me IMO)

Well, I just got a box 2.53 C1.

That 175$ deal for retail employess that screwed over many of us and made us wait 6 weeks for the bundle promised in 2, well it finally come through and im quite happy The proc is s-spec SL6EG Costa Rica Pack Date: 10/30/02 (seems quite old for a c1 doesnt it?) Week


I cant OC yet becasue i only has the intel board that come with it, PE chipset with no FSB option. When and if the GB boards come out, and if they good for gaming ill buy one and oc then. Just wanted to let you know that they do exist

BTW, I know you can figure out the processor's "week", but cant remeber how, if you let me know, id be happy to fill you in.

Yeah, do us all a favour, ditch the Intel board and get an overclocking board and start upping 'em FSB Wonder how well it'll overclock compared to the regular 2.53Ghz part.

yea i really wana oc this guy, but i think i should wait for gb to come out. Seem like a waste to buy a PE when i already got one

I have one

Got it running at 2.85 on default voltage.

Im tempted to push it further and up the voltage, but i dont want this chip to die on me.

GB is nice for those with low multiplier highly overclockable P4's. Otherwise, you're not really seing the bandwidth benefits. You'll be paying more for something you may not be getting in return. Plus if you only have one stick of ram, that'll mean you'll have to grab another one in order to run it on the GB board. But if you got the doughnuts, that's all moot

i got 2 sticks of corsair xms 3200 c2.0, but if gb comes out at 250$, i think ill be passing it by
