2.5" USB2.0 external hard drive PROBLEM

i have purchased a 2.5" hard drive (western digital) 60GB hard drive. Put this hard drive into a usb 2.0 case and although its detected the drive and windows xp says its ready for use. However it does not show in my computer.

Its hows the drive in the hardware device manager.

I know that I may need to format this drive.

Are there anyways for me to use the drive as a normal drive or will i need to format the drive?

If I need to format the drive, how can I go about it doing this? what software do i need and where do i obatin this from? (any shareware)

Right-click My Computer -> Manage -> Disk Management -> right-click the new drive -> New Partition -> follow the prompts.

Done.
