2.5 gb RAM showing and I have 4

I have Windows Vista Ultimate, and I have 4 gb of OCZ Reaper Edition RAM. When I boot up, on the initial BIOS loading screen, 4gb shows up, but when I get to Windows, only 2.5 shows up. Anyone know what's going on with this?

Thanks!

From what I've read, it may be a BIOS setting or the motherboard. It's a fairly common issue if you search google.

64-bit OS will help.

It also might depend on your motherboard etc, but I hope the other 64-bit OS users can help you with that.

Thank you guys. I just ordered the full 64 bit of Ultimate. Hopefully that fixes it. Otherwise, 272 bucks of pain. 🙂

Thanks again.

I thought if you had 32bit version of ultimate they let you switch to 64 for the cost of the cd. Maybe I'm mistaken though

Ouch dude, my local Micro Center sells the OEM version for $189. Who needs MS 'support' anyway?

You should have been able to upgrade to the 64 bit version for $10 or $20.
