Got a free small desktop that takes a 3.5" drive.. existing drive is 20gb..

I got rid of a few notebooks and have a spare seagate 5400.3 2.5" drive..

I'm just going to plug the 2.5" into the 3.5" bay. Is there any 2.5" drive bracket that has some passive or active cooling ? I figure if there is it'll keep the drive cool... if not ill use the regular brackets..

The 5400.3 does run hotter than regular 2.5" drive..

With an adapter, the 2.5-in drive has much more cooling air around it than it would in a laptop. The heat is insignificant - don't worry about it.

gotta agree with corky, the laptop HD should not need any additional cooling as long as your case isn't an oven.
