From the ones I've ever used, they have never seen through clothing. It is true, that the 1st release of I think last years or year before sony cameras had that. Not a bad deal. I've seen some cheap ones at Big 5 Sporting goods that look good, but aren't that great for like $90.00. Can't say anything about these, so this could be a great deal.
