2.4c to 3 (steps and results)

this morning, i decided to turn my 2.4c into 3.0 and here are my results:

Setup
P4 2.4c with ThermalTake Spark7+ with AS5
Soyo 865PE Plus Dragon 2 Mobo (Springdale)
Maxtor 80gig 6Y080P0
Corsairs ValueSelect 2x256 ddr400 Dual-Channel
ATI Radeon 9800np (Flashed to Pro; 405/350)
CPU Stock Voltage

Before OC (2.4ghz):
800 FSB
Chassis Temp: 27c
CPU Temp: 44c
3DMark01: 15095
3DMark03: 5025

What I did (just 3 steps for cpu o/c!):
-5:4 Timing
-250 FSB
-66/33 AGP/PCI Lock

After OC (3ghz):
1000 FSB
Chassis Temp: 30c
CPU Temp: 45c
3DMark01: 17528
3DMark03: 6021

PS: will do ram timings oc along with prime95 and memtest; will post results ASAP.

I had my P4 2.4c running at 3.19 for the longest time, then I started thinking about it and to get that speed with the RAM multiplyers that were available I was actually underclocking the RAM. I dropped the CPU To 3.0GHz and the RAM speed went up and now everything runs faster. My Crucial RAM isnt up to running any faster than it is rated for.

3GHz is too easy. You need to hit like 3.3-3.6GHz
