2.4C and P4P800

Hi I am pretty new to overclocking and was wondering how/what would be the best settings for my rig. I have a 2.4C (800Mhz FSB) Corsair CMX512-3200C2PT and the Asus P4P800 Deluxe (with Bios 1010). I tried to overclock it a few months ago when I first got it and one of my ram went out. It could have been defective in the first place I think but just to be sure I want to know what settings I should use. I had the FSB at 250 Vcore was about 1.6 Ram timings were 2-3-3-6 also for some reason it turned my ram down to 275 or something instead of 400. Any help would be great thanks!

Edit: I have 5 case fans and a thermaltake hsf (6500 rpms) so I think heat shouldnt be too much of a problem? I would like to make it faster then 3.0 Ghz if possible but I cant afford to fry any more components.

Under which option in the bois would I find that? thanks!

I've got the same board and proc and RAM. You have to go under the CPU settings and set it to manual first.

Also, have you tried just using the auto OC'ing options at all?
