Well, I just got a new compaq machine at work and fired up cpu-z which told me it was a C1. So I got interested, opened up the case, and found the chip is a 2.4b SL6RZ week 48 costa rica. How well do these bad boys oc? I've got a P4P800 (non-deluxe), 2x512 ocz basic pc3500 (not the greatest but I got it for real cheap and it runs @ spec), and an slk900 w/ panaflo fan. Any guesses? 🙂

I pulled it from a new Compaq machine I just got at work. Not exactly within the company's rules, but I did it in the name of science. 🙂 It'll have to go back tomorrow morning...

So far, it's not breaking a sweat @ 160 fsb, default voltage. I'm kind of weary though, this combo crapped out at 270 fsb on my new 2.4c. It's weird, it's 99% stable at 269, but it won't even post at 270... I tried all kinds of voltages & timings. Maybe it's the board? I don't think I'll be able to max out either of these cpu's and I'm out of money to get a new board and/or ram 🙁

You can with the "B" chip cause the multiplier is 18.The 2.4C is only 12 so it will take a lot of FSB and youe mobo might not do over 269FSB or your memory is holding you back.In that case use 4:5 or 3:2 or something as to not push the ram.Crank up the 2.4B to 190FSB for 3.42GHz.🙂
