Just got this chip in yesterday, so I have been playing with it all day today. 😛 😉 🙂
I am still testing - stability - but I want more.

Thanks to Thugsrook ? I borrowed this format from him when I ran tests on my 1.6A & 1.8A a while back.

SYSTEM ? I had some results from my 1.8A tests on Word Doc, so I included for comparison.

Notes: The BD7II board undervolts and the temps readings are usually +5-8C higher than most other boards,163fsb @ default voltage kicked out of 3Dmark so this is where I had to start increasing the vcore.

Testing of each step with Prime95. ( Prime was only run for about 30 minutes on some overclocks )

You should have ran same version of sissoft sandra for correct cpu and multimedia comparison...I have the last 3 versions and same chip will give 3 diffrent readins in all cpu, MM, and memory....

hat being said I would like a chip like yours...How much did you pay, and where did you get it??

Actually, I did think of that but I ran Sandra 2002 SP1 on a couple of the tests and there wasn't any significant differences so I just went with the new version. After all I paid $30 bucks for it.
rolleye.gif

Sandra gives a different reading every time I run it, even with the same version. 😉

Anyway, I bought the retail chip from Noble Computers for $215.
I paid a little more than what they are selling online, but I was guaranteed the C1. Chad ordered it from his resource and they picked this one from their stock. He said that they did still have both BO and C1 in stock.

Duvie - I was totally wrong about Sandra.

Went back and ran it again just to be sure. Big difference
Posted update with Sandra 2002 SP1 next to the 2003.

Sandra 2003 CPU
7564/1754/4024
7571/1755/4024

Sandra 2002 SP1
5995/1636/3790
6005/1636/3791

Just for accurate comparison I would use that one...I would also post the 2003 numbers as many like myself that use that one have something to compare to...at least as much as anyone can compare sissoft benches. The best thing they do offer is in comparing against similar or same system.

215 is a good buy...I seen it a bit cheaper but no more then 10 bucks...

excellent work! 😀

sandra CPU and MM tests are very effected by memory speeds/cas settings.
in the old days (1-2 years ago) those changes didnt effect other sandra scores ~ now they do.

vcore and vdimm voltage will also effect those scores.
there is a point of diminishing returns that happens when adding voltage.

(3g on 1.525v will be faster then 3g on 1.7v etc)

🙂

The real question now is:

How will the OCZ PC3500EL 512Mb stick or the Cosair XMS PC3500C2 effect these scores and performance???

I ordered both sticks today. 😉 😛

Hope the XMS can do 227fsb with it's guaranteed specs at 2.7v. I question it after how your chips ran in your tests.

i hear so many things about OCZ i wish some one would torture test them in here already 😉

a few ppl have contacted local resellers about OCZ ~ and for the most part, the resellers are talking ppl out of buying these for extreme overclocking :Q and recommending XMS3000! (coincidence? i think not) 😉

anyways, id like to see some OCZ torture testing 🙂

Thugs - 10/4

That's why I bought it. I just have to see for myself.

$187 bucks worth of OCZ curiousity. 😀 :Q

Actually, it's only $30 (restocking fee + shipping back) 😉 LOL

hehe, yea thats exactly how i look at things lately too 😉

its not how much it costs ~ its how much it will cost me to play with it (after resale/return if i dont keep it) 😉
$30 to play with a potential great stick of 512 ram for a week? not a bad price at all 🙂

For crying out loud, where did this come from?! I check the board right before I go to be, check it 6 hours later and wham! jhites is posting all kinds of cool stuff!!! Looks great mate, nice chip you have there! I'm looking forward to your memory results, nice to see someone willing to take a chance in the name of fun and oc'ing!! hehe...😉 Good luck!! 😀

Same with my 1.8A - Guess I will be selling it shortly, also to offset some of the P4 2.4b cost. 😀

Yea - I can't wait for those memory sticks to arrive, myself. Should be very interesting to see how much they effect the benchmarks.

Side Note: I ran Prime95 all night at the 170fsb with no errors. Will be going for more this evening. Can't be off from work like yesterday and play. :disgust:

Playing with 174fsb = 3141Mhz as I type. Still testing.

Does anyone have some DDR464 CL2-5-2-2 for sale?? 😉

I don't think I will get much more.
The temps on the board and chip are getting to high to suite me.

Ok - so I guess my fun stops for now until the new memory sticks get here.
Just can't get stable at 174, it boots fine even at 176 but did not try anything higher yet.

Won't complete 3D Mark, PC Mark and get Prime95 error at 174. 🙁

OK - So I will just have to live with it. 😉

Now here is something that is also strange. That I have not seen. When testing the 174fsb stability, I ran SiSandra 2003 benchmarks several times for the CPU, Multi and Memory.

Why the differences on the Dhrystone ALU for CPU vary so much but not the others?
run 1 = 8030/1817/4166
run 2 = 9179/1817/4165
run 3 = 9185/1817/4166
run 4 = 9178/1817/4168

The MultiMedia and Memory were all four runs about the same. Now this did not occur with SiSandra 2002 SP1 just SiSandra 2003. Maybe buggy? 😕

jhites, the OCZ PC3700 EL is suppose to be released next week,466DDR.Maybe you should have went for that instead of the 3500.

So - I guess that I will have to add another 512mb stick to my already on order collection.
Or - May be the same stuff, just tested higher.

Sounds like a Corsair XMS3500C2 story - Right! 😉

Yep,it could very well be the XMs 3500 story..LOL.I ordered 2 sticks of "dual channel" 256 PC3500 OCZ today. These are different than the regular 3500EL sticks. We'll soon find out how good these sticks are.If they suck,me and you will head down to the OCZ headquarters with bats..lol.
😀
