I can run the 2.4a@3.25Ghz... default voltage, stock everything and at a 1:1 ratio, I get the 1mb cache with the prescott

I can get a good deal on a 2.6c, that usually clock to 3.0-3.2Ghz on stock.. but I would have to run it at 5:4, cancelling out the extra FSB performance... but I would get HT with the 2.6c

Which would be better for my setup?... which includes only 3200 ram and a thermalright HSF.

The C class does come with HT and from what I hear, are A LOT better than A's. Kind of like the difference between Athlon XP and Athlong 64, a lower clocked 64 will smack the pants out of a higher clocked XP.

2.4a = prescott w no ht
2.6c = northwood

the prescott will be better for doom 3 and video encoding and does pretty well vs the northwood in most other benches. I don't think the diff between these 2 is comparable to the diff between athlon 64 and athlon XP.

As i told you on the other thread, the 2.6C at speeds above 3300Mhz would beat the 2.4a in everything IMHO...

The 2.4a is only "good" above 210/215fsb where it starts to kick pretty good punches... i'm getting one and i'm expecting to try to reach 4100/4150Mhz...
