Just got an MSI 645E Max-c with an Intel P4 2.4a. I hooked everything up and it says it is running at 1.2 ghz. I played around with the FSB and got it running at 1.4 but that is a far cry from 2.4. One other question. This is my first PC with DDR, would it affect it if is only pc2100?
I have another one to put together (gigabyte 8IEXP) will see how that goes.

Thanks in advance.

i dont know much about that MSI board...but if you set everything to default it should boot up fine...unless you are missing some pins on your cpu...check and make sure everything is in as they are suppose to ...if that doesn't work...try to update the bios...are you sure your mobo supports p4 2.4+?

I was going to mention that in my first post that CPUid said it was running at 1.2. I will try updated the Bios but have my doubts since it is a 533 fsb board that is fairly new.

Thanks for the help I will keep trying.

Flashed the Bios I know I have the right socket board still no success. No the other board I have won't even power on. I am going to try and swapp processors and I have 1 extra board to try after that I will be pretty much stumped.
