Having made the switch to VoIP, I now want to spread the service through the house.

Anyone got a link to a good review comparing cordless technologies?

I don't have any good links, but a phone that is 5.8Ghz both ways is less likely to interfere with wireless networks, if that's is a concern of yours. A lot of the 5.8Ghz phones are only 5.8Ghz one way, and 2.4Ghz the other way.

Otherwise the phone's quality will play a larger role than the frequency used.

I've got Vonage (VOIP) and have been using the 5.8GHz Uniden PowerMax phones for about two years, with good success. They work great and have good range and clarity, and no interference with my wireless network (which is based on a NetGear WGT624 wireless router). I'm sure there is lots of information about good 5.8GHz phones out on the web, if you run a search.

You can use your existing phone jacks throughout the house & plug your phones in the regular outlets like normal

Be very careful if you plan to do this. There are certain steps/precautions you must take, or you can cause serious damage to your phone equipment. You should do a few net searches. There are some articles out there which cover this in detail, but all have the caveat that you do this at your own risk.
