It has bipartisan approval as well

Seems like an inevitability at this point. The only question is how long the fossils in the federal government will hold out.

Well, Boener's (last speaker of the HOR) a member of the board for one of the outfits, Canada has nationally legalized it, it's a matter of time.

Trump isn't known to just say things that he thinks people want to hear so I believe him. It's not like he picked an AG that is militantly against MJ.

He's also a business man. Hopefully he sees the tax revenue that is just sitting there waiting to be plucked. But I understand these things don't happen overnight.

I know, great business man. Tremendous even. Just ask him and he'll tell you.

Overturn marijuana related convictions too.

Colorado did this for minor offenses as in smaller amounts. Other states may be following suit. The Feds would never overturn major convictions like manufacturing or smuggling, but it'd be smart to release non-violent small-time offenders simply to free up space and taxpayer expenses.

Among Trump's strongest supporters are law enforcement unions and conservative Christians. The first group depends on marijuana prohibition for their livelihoods, the second still believes in reefer madness.
So he might be a businessman but right now he's a politician first.

Legalization is widely popular, will boost the economy and result in decreased prison populations. Of course it won't happen with Republicans in charge.

Our for profit police force needs a boogie man to go after and mj is just far too lucrative. Legalize it and they’d be left having to do real police work and the prisons/courts/police has to be paid!

They'd still get some for DUI.

Which is good.
Absolutely. Saw a piece about Colorado the other day and someone was saying DUI arrests have gone up since marijuana was legalized and the Governor said that's because before they didn't check for marijuana in DUI cases. Shut the other person right down.

Legalization is just better public policy. We prove that every day here in CO. I look forward to the control freaks in the rest of the country getting over themselves.

What no cats and dogs living together. It's funny, really, nothing has really changed whatsoever since recreational MJ law was passed here.

The first legal pot stores here in Mass were recently approved after voters decided to legalize in a ballot measure in 2016. I can't really set foot in one considering my security clearance  It's stupid and the feds need to get over it. It's obviously a done deal at this point.

It did set up kind of a funny situation in Nebraska, where the governor complained about the drugs being imported into Nebraska (after having tried to import banned drugs from India for lethal injection).

What's hilarious is that the 421 Pot store in Bremerton, is directly across from the entrance to the PASS and ID office of the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard.

I fully support legalization, I'd just never partake myself. I hardly ever drink much alcohol either, I'm kind of a person that can deal with the real world without anything like that :p
