2-3 fps ???

Please help me here...

I just upgraded from a ATI 9200 to a Gainward 960 (5700Ultra) and i couldn't get lower fps than this !!!
I tried by disabling everything possible but higher i got was 725...

Here's my specs:

Intel Pentium 4 3.0 GHz @ 800 Hyper-Threading
Asus P4SD
4X 512 MB PC3200 DDR DIMMs (2 GB total)
2 W/D 160gig sata hard drives
Gainward 960 Ultra5700 oc @ 475 / 1000; 128Mb DDR3
400W Power Supply
Sound Blaster Audigy 2 Zs Platinum

The 5700U is not much of an upgrade to the 9200. In fact it might be slower running the DX 9 path than the 9200 will be running the DX 8 path.

Having said that did you remove all traces of ATi's drivers?
Do the dxdiag video tests pass?
Do you have the latest chipset drivers installed for your system?

Yes, The dxdiag test worked; I didn't remove all ATI drivers (in case i reuse my 9200); I installed the bios update on gainward website and the latest nvidia drivers ...is there something else i could install ?

I base my choice of the 5700u on the DX9 support and the core and memory speed which seemed twise that of the 9200...i hope i didn't waste my money...

But 2-3 fps ??

here's the specs when i got it:
Chipset/Core Speed: nVIDIA GeForce FX5700 ULTRA/500MHz
Memory/Effective Speed: 128MB GDDR3/1000MHz
BUS: AGP 4X/8X
Ports: DVI + DVI + TV-Out(S-Video Out)
Support 3D API: DirectX®9, OpenGL®1.5

Compared to 9200:
Specifications:
Chipset/Core Speed: ATI RADEON 9200/250MHz
Memory/Effective Speed: 128MB DDR/400MHz
BUS: AGP 4X/8X
Ports: VGA Out(15 Pin D-Sub)+TV-Out(S-Video Out+Composite Out)
Support 3D API: DirectX®8.1, OpenGL®1.3🙁

Welcome to Pwnedville. Population, your video card. 😛

This message brought to you by Futuremark, who remind you not to say their benchmarks suck, or they'll sue you.

5700 is a bad card 🙂

It isnt a BAD card per say, it's just that shading isn't its cup of tea, and 3DMARK05 has quite a bit of that 🙂 FYI, I've got a score of 780 with my 5700u, so yours sounds just right 😀

3dmark 05 doesn't even run well on the latest high end video cards so what did you expect? Forget using a rubbish synthetic benchmark like 3dmark05 and try some "real" software instead! 🙂

Well, I got just over 2,000 with my softmodded 9500 and a 3200+, so I'd say your numbers were WAY low.

Hey, at least you get 2-3 fps in 3DMark05. I'm still using a 128-bit R9200 here, which isn't even supported. 🙁 But considering that a R9600 blows away even an FX5900 in 3DMark05, and no card really does well on it, then an FX5700 isn't really going to do squat either.
