i had a gig of pc3500 running at pc2700 with a 2500+ just to see if i could get really tite timings but that was about it

if you are going to be running high amounts of memory make sure yur motherboard supports the amount you need
you would prob need a server motherboard for what yur talking about like an amd760 (kinda outdated now) board
another option would be athlon64 or opteron

No, what i meant was like has anyone(around here) been able to overclock their barton 2500+ to 2.3-2.4 gigahertz on air, with pc2700 ram. Im wondering because I've been wanting to try since my vcore is at 1.6 anyways, so I could push it up some more if i had to. Specs in Sig.

Only one way to know for sure... you'll most likely have to bump the voltage and increase the CAS, but i should think it's possible with Corsair XMS memory.

Ah, didn't realize you've already got it OCed... well, your memory very well could be holding you back.

I use mixxed PC2100 and PC2700 to get 2.29 Ghz on my 1700XP using 183 fsb x 12.5 I don't see why u couldn't just up the multiplier as long as its not locked and get 2.3-2.4 if the CPU can take it.

the slower mem won't hold back your oc with the nf2 motherboard
just up the clock mult and you'll be fine

good luck
