I figure Valve will announce half-life 3, or left 4 dead 3. Rumors have been going around about a counter-strike 2 as well, maybe a counter-strike + left 4 dead mix?

It's two bucks, who cares lol. Plus Orange Box is 3 games, seeing as HL2 is now $2 and Portal has been free (since we're talking 'as low as') that means you're really paying for TF2. And even at $2 HL2 is still priced 33% below it's relative share of the Box.

How is portal free, its $14.99 in the steam store. Half-life 2 is $9.99 in the steam store, not $2.

And the Orange box is 5 games, not 3.

You read that wrong...what darkewaffle meant was Valve was giving Portal away for free last year..don't remember when, probably during one of the sales.

Any rumors about Counter Strike 2 are absolutely false. The developer left valve's team and has supposedly been working on a game called Tactical Intervention that was supposed to be out late 2009. Haven't heard anything about the game since then.

He said has been free. It was given away for free for a week or something like that a while back.

Yeah Portal was free for a bit to celebrate Steam being available on Mac

Don't forget, TF2 was on sale like a year and a half ago for $1.99 as well.

Edit: My mistake, I thought this was HL2 for $2, not Episode 2. Either way is a good price really, just one deal would be much more impressive.

Episode 2 is outstanding though, if you didn't like Ep1 and skipped Ep2 because of it I highly recommend giving this one a try anyway. The final battle is awesome and this episode really pushes the story along much more than Ep1 does if that's what you're looking for.

so I got HL 2 for free some 4 or so months before it was actually released (radeon 1900XT baby!)--also required to download steam, only game I had at the time.

then I got Portal for free last year...if I pay 2 bucks for this HL2 ep2, then maybe wait for episode 1 then team fortress 2 on sale/free...would I ever be able to imagine the entire Orange Box going for less than 5 dollars?

so, at 2 dollars now, I'd currently have 3/5 of Orange Box....

I already mentioned that I got Portal for free. I already have 2 of the Orange Box games: HL2 and Portal, and never paid a cent for them.

for this, I would have paid $2 for 3/5 of the Orange Box.
