Excellent, excellent game. For $2.99 you really have no excuse to not own this.

Is it fun to play against bots? I had problems connecting to servers last time there was a free weekend.

This game is meant to be played in co-op against waves of enemies. You can solo but you'll probably have to stick to certain classes. The difficulty scales depending on the # of people playing. DLC is just skins that only other players can see. It's a great way to support the devs. All the dlc content (maps, weapons, etc) for the game have been free. Great game.

In that way, yes. They are both pure multiplayer co-op zombie shooters.

Not really like L4d2. Maybe their survival mode.

It's a class based survival game but you have to last through 10 waves of enemies. There's a final boss monster after level 10.
Each wave gets progressively harder. The number of monsters and their diversity increases. It takes a lot of teamwork and very difficult to solo. There's like 6 classes and they can be leveled up to level 6.

For most people that start out Normal is already pretty damn difficult. Try to hop onto a hard game and it's pretty much a gauranteed wipe.

I think this game uses one of the unreal engines so the game looks a little dated. There's plenty of people to play with online. Takes a team effort just to survive the wave. Hospital of Horrors is a good example. On Bedlam, some teams like to camp the the upper roof, which gets extremely tough by wave 5 or 6.

Single player can be fun but there's nothing like a wave that nearly wipes out your team and everyones barely alive. It's awesome running around as the berserker chopping heads off.
