I went into my Sounds and Audio Devices control panel and found nothing to do with a 2.1 system.

Bass does not have sound.
I have some Logitech 2.1 system that I stole from my brother's room.

Did you go into control panel -> sounds and audio devices -> Advanced (Under speaker settings), and change it to 2.1?

Desktop speakers would be the option I guess...

Well durr... did you by any chance install realtek's ac97 drivers from their online source?

Then uhh... have you tried enabling the speaker configuration with the realtek program that should come when you installed the realtek drivers (IIRC)?

Check your speaker connections, make sure that the sub is plugged in.

Also check if you have a separate volume and bass control on the speakers. If so, the bass may be turned all the way down.

It could be your subwoofer is bad.

Windows has nothing to do with the subwoofer either way. Since that set does not have 6-channel inputs there is not discrete subwoofer input. The subwoofer will play if the satellites play; the internal crossover takes care of that. You need to hook this up to say an ipod or CD player and see if you still have the same problem, because chances are its the unit itself thats the problem here.

Audio Devices does not have a 'stereo' option? Do check again :), that would be the first case ever if it didn't.

you don't have to turn the bass on. there should be a bass level on the sub itself tho, make sure it's not turned too far down.

The bass level is turned almost all the way up, all connections are fine, and I put it backj on stereo.
Nothing.
My bro may have left the speakers at home when he left for college because the bass didn't work.
Perhaps...

the sub amp might be bad possibly. unless you have bass turned all the way down in the volume controls there shouldn't be anything else to set.

Did you just hook them up or was it working before? Perhaps the speakers just have more natural level of bass than you're used to, or perhaps they'res a null in the frequency response due to the subwoofer's location. Does the cone move if you touch it?

Bass does not work. >.<
I turned the volume on it all the way up and get nothing.
I just hooked them up thinking they'd work automatically.
But no, it's not a Mac, why should it just work flawlessly?
