2.1 Home Theater Suggestions

In the market for a good 2.1 system, dvd player preferably included. Trying to avoid clutter and having speakers everywhere for my dog to knock over and chew.

Was looking at this Samsung but can't really find any reliable reviews for it.

If the dvd player has xvid support that is a plus.

Would you be opposed to buying a regular DVD player, a regular receiver, and then a pair of speakers and sub of your choice?

What's your budget?
