Hi ,

I just sold a Pentium 4 2.0a GHz CPU to someone on ebay.
Intel Pentium 4 [ socket 478 ]
2.0aGHz @ 20 x 100 @ 2000 MHz @ [ QDR 4 x 100 MHz @ 400 FSB ] System Bus

The guy emailed me 2 time saying the CPU was faulty and wanted a refund , i told him that it worked fine when i sent it to him.then said he was going to report me to ebay for selling faulty goods. [ I am thinking he's installed it himself and messed up and damaged the CPU ]

The his tone got a little quieter and he asked for some problem solving help , things he could mabye try too solve the problem , of no boot, so i gave him the works , everything that i could think of for him to try.

NOW he emails me saying that , he's sorry anjd mabye it's his fault as he's trying to install the CPU in a "Notebook".

Now ive never used or installed a CPU in a notebook and he wants to know if it will work , or should he get a certain CPU for Notebooks ?

He also said he was sorry and he's retracted his bad feedback for me on ebay. ;)

any info on notebooks would be great , I'll try and get the make and model og the Notebook.

it depends on what laptop that he has. If he has a laptop that uses a desktop cpu then your cpu will work fine. However, it his laptop is using a mobile one then it will not work.

You just need to ask him what kind of laptop that he has.

Hi ,

Im still waiting for him to send me an email with the make and model of the notebook.

He says that he just has a black screen , i dont know if the computer even starts , or if it starts like the fans ans stuff and the screen just stays black with no post.

That would proberly mean he needs a Mobile CPU like for instince an Athlon XP 2400+ MP if it was an Athlon System ?
