Ive seen these benchmarks on a russian site, where the ATi X800 complete blows away the competition when their 2.0b shader model is enabled, and its in russian so i cant read it, but from what the graphs show it looks very promising, this is compared to the 3.0 shader model for the 6800. So i dont know if ull read this, but could u possibly review this, as suppsedly it has been put in the 1.2 patch for Far Cry, its just up to the drivers or the individual to activate it.

Thanks

And if anyone knows how i can send them an email requesting this be done, please tell me!

ixbt-labs = digit-life, not xbitlabs.

Anyway, it says that many of the v1.2 shaders can be compiled as PS2.0, and the latest patch also includes a PS2.b path that shows the same performance improvements on the X800 as the SM3.0 path showed on the 6800. It also says the X800 has a form of geometry instancing that we'll see enabled in upcoming ATi drivers. Good news for ATi owners.
