These are for someone who isn't very picky - and they don't want to spend more than $30.

Suggestions?

the snr on those altec lansings is terrible, and will limit even onboard sound to a lower quality. I like altec lansing, but those can't be powerful in any way. I guess for someone who isn't picky and will enjoy a pair of speakers that won't fall apart, those are OK.

He said he wasn't picky that's why I recommended them. I wouldn't expect phenominal quality from a twenty dollar package.

Edit: In which stores exactly did you see Labtecs? BB website doesn't seem to have them.....

You probably wont find them on websites anymore, they arent recent models.
But just about every Staples, OfficeMax and Office Depot I go into has them.
Same with Circuit City and Best Buy. You need to walk into the store and look for them.
