1tb offsite storage? cheap?

Hey does anyone know of good companies offering this much off site storage? I'm trying to figure out of its better to just keep a hard drive under my bed with my data. I have 1 redundant copy now but they are in the same location. If I lost this data I would lose my business. If I did the under the bed thing I would have 3 copies at 2 locations.

Thanks...

Its not replicated real time, but safe deposit box or a storage unit would be the cheapest solutions.

how fast does the data change? there's an app double-take that can do low speed asynchronous replication over the internet from work to home or a colo

ohh thats neat. It doesn't change much and if the off site backup lags behind its fine. I can afford to lose recent stuff its the full body of work that i would be dead without. My data is on a macpro at work and I have a pc at home. Is there anything cross platform that does this?

checking out their website now...

I use Carbonite www.carbonite.com

It's super easy to use and set up. They offer unlimited backup from local drives for a flat rate annual fee. They also recently added some remote access features but I haven't tried this yet.

I believe that Rsync has both Mac and Windows versions. You can make an initial local backup and then move the backup disk to another location and Rsync will update only the changes. You'd likely do this using a VPN tunnel between the two PCs.

Unlimited? 😵

My guess is that it's unlimited, Comcast-style. At 20Mb/s, my FIOS connection can send them about 9GB an hour, or 216GB a day. I doubt I would be a customer for long at that rate 😀

well my work pc is sitting on a t1 it will still take a week to back it up initially but then small additons. unlimited :sneaky:
