I've been an AnandTech fan for some time now and I'm about to build my 3rd rig now, but am no expert.

I mostly use it for web surfing, office applications, and lots of music and video transfers within my drives and portable devices. No gaming. Love my dual 22" HD monitors set-up.

This is what I have on NewEggs' cart right now:
1. Asus P8Z68-V LE
2. i5-2500K
3. 8GB / 1333
4. OCZ Vertex 2 SSD 60GB / 2.5 SATA II MLC
I will use my previous rig's power supply, case, etc.

Some of my questions are:
1. Can I plug in my 2 monitors to the MOBO or would I need a new video card to make the most out of my LCDs? Which one? Asus MOBO has DVI and VGA.
2. Will the Vertex 2 make any improvements on music/video transfer rates? Is it require for this MOBO?

Comments and recommendations are welcome,

You can plug both monitors into the MB using DVI and HDMI or in combination with D-Sub but not using the VGA.

The SSD will greatly increase transfer rates to and from it to other HDD's. It is not "required" for the MB.

Well, not so fast, maybe you are correct; the LE differs from the LX, so maybe this is one of the differences? I used the LX.

Looking closer, at that price point in the P8Z68 line, I'd have to think the LX and LE do the same thing, given that the LX is actually cheaper, so I'd say you are safe with the LE for DVI+VGA.

If you are not doing any gaming and don't plan to overclock perhaps you should consider the i5-2300 and save a few bucks. It will be more than adequate for your intended usage.

... or the i3-2100 for that matter.

Update:

I just assemble the rig, this must be the fastest one I've ever done.

Thanks to all
