I just acquired an older ipod touch and I want to jailbreak it.

Can someone point me to a good walkthrough?

The technique differs depending on what Touch and which OS it's running, and then also what OS you are using on your main computer to jailbreak it.

Heh, Google Cydia apps. Depending on your usage there are a few apps that I'm sure you'll like that isn't Apple approved but is available on Cydia. Some are free, some are pay.

I've found that iOS 4.0 and up have enough features that I personally haven't bothered jailbreaking my iPhone 4's. Though I did have an older 2G iPhone that was jailbroken.

One of the best Cydia based apps (doesn't apply to an iTouch) is an app that allows you to turn your iPhone into a mobile hotspot. Since I don't have an unlimited plan, it is of limited use to me.

There are also emulators for older consoles such as the NES or Gameboy, among others, as well as apps that will allow you to change the way the interface looks.

What are you looking to do with it? You basically need cydia installed before you can do anything really cool.

Lockinfo is pretty tight, it changes the lock screen to where you can have widgets / rss feeds on there.

Winterboard lets you customize the background, dock, etc...

I made my dock 5 icons wide, use lockinfo to display weather, push notifications, texts, etc, and I use winterboard to make all my icons transparent.

So what exactly do you want to do with it? Im not a gamer really but i know you can put NES, SNES games, etc on it.
