What's the red light on the door panel by the mirror for? I had the panel off to install speakers and there's wires running from the light to the mirror. It's not alarm and there's no switch to turn on heated mirrors.

GPS tracker that sends your coordinates to the NSA. Or maybe it's for a feature you didn't get, but isn't worth removing that component for the cars that don't have it.
 
I would have to agree they are definitely not OEM. I also agree with LEDs for alarm flashers. But you say its hooked up to the mirror wiring so that certainly doesn't make any sense at all...unless there is an unused wire in that harness.
