Problems Galore! I know you luv hear it! (1st time computer builder here)

Starting Computer (1st time). heres the messages:

1. Where it should show the display device (VC), it says "Detecting..." then changes to:
"No Device Installed"

BIOS Not Installed

Then says:
Serial_ch0; No Device
Serial_ch0; No Device

2. If I allow the System checks to continue, it takes me to this screen:

PXE-EXI: Media Test Failure, test cable
PXE-Exiting Rom

I went into BIOs Setup Ultility & it said:

3.
Primary IDE: Hard Drive (Basically)
Secondary IDE: DVD
thats right right?

4.
1st Boot Device: DVD (I changed it, because I wanted OS CD to load)
2nd Boot Device: Hard Drive
3rd Boot Device: DVD

5. I went into PC Health and got those volts:
CPU Fan Speed: 3,200RPM
North Bridge Fan Speed: 0 RPM

+ VCore--- 1.472V
+5.0V -----5.113V
+12V ------11.802V
-12V--------11.907V
-5V---------5,077V
Battery---3.456V
+5V SB---4.921V
.........................................

Soooo, now what? Take everything apart and start over?? lol

System Specs:
AMD 3000+
NINJA MGE Case 450W PSU
1GB Corsair RAM PC3200 DD400
80GB Western Digital HDD
Geforce 6800GT 256MB Video Card
Integrated Sound

1) Thats ok, if you have no s-ata devices connected
2) It is trying to boot from the lan, which normally happens if it cannot find any other boot device, or boot other devices is enabled in the bios
3) Yes
4) fan speeds and voltages look fine.

usually what I do when im trying to boot from the cd or dvd drive is when im in the bios put the disc in the drive then save and exit after changing the boot order. I know some board they boot a little too quickly and you miss the chance to put the disk in and you get what happens in #2

Those problems didn't contribute to me unplugging my Video/Processor/etc.. in? If thats the case, I am very happy. I will try putting in the CD, restarting my computer, go into Bios Setup Utility, save & Exit, and see what happens. If It does not work, I will just try some other O/S to make sure my Windows XP CD isn't faulty...

Will the Primary Boot Device REMAIN at booting from the CD first until I change it? How do I go about this?
