Have decided to attempt my first PC build. Have finally decided on most equipment, after much research. The MOBO has been ordered. The remainder will be ordered this week. If anyone sees any problems with compatibility, please let me know. That is the main purpose of this post.

Antec Black ATX Mini Tower PC Case 350W PSU Model "SLK1650B"-$60.00 Shipped
SOLTEK "SL-K8AN2E-GR" NVIDIA nForce3 250Gb MOBO Socket 754 - $95 Shipped
AMD Athlon 64 2800+, 512KB L2 Cache, 64-bit Processor (Retail) - $140 Shipped
MSI nVIDIA GeForce MX4000 Video 128MB DDR "G4MX4000-T128" - $47 Shipped (Do not do any gaming)

Have decided on above components.
The others below are somewhat flexible:

NEC 16X Double Layer DVD±RW Drive Model ND-3500A BK OEM - $71 Shipped
Western Digital Caviar WD800BB 80GB Hard Drive - $57 Shipped
2 Corsair 512MB PC3200 DDR DIMM Memory (Total 1 Gig) - $158

Total: $628 Shipped.

Please let me know what you think (especially if there are any suspected hardware incompatibilites). Thanks for all the help. Chad

Nice. Same case I have but if you have a little more $$ I think you should get a Sonata.
Good build though. Everything else is fine.

I'd avoid the Western Digital drives since their ball-bearing motors may develop a nasty whine/zzzing! sound as time goes by. Seagate's 7200.7's are all fluid-bearing and have 5-year warranties, could be a good alternative.

$57 for 80 gb is a bad dead. you should be able to find 3gb / $, check the hot deals forum

Thanks for the help thus far. On a budget and wanted to keep the total cost between $500-600. Would love the Sonata case, but the Antec I've chosen suits my needs and is right in price. Don't do any gaming so figued the video card I chose is appropriate. Thanks for the advice on the hard drive. I'll admit I have not done enough research on HD's yet. Did see the same exact HD yesterday for $50 instead of $57. All I know is that I will probably choose an IDE drive. I could probably get away with a 60MB drive as I may use an older drive as a slave (20MB). The 80MB drive was just not much more in price than the 60MB though. Will do some research. Thanks for the tips.

Chad
