Here is what I have. Gateway G6-400, ATX case, 200 watt ps, DVD, CDRW (writes @ 2X), PII 400, 440BX w/ integrated sound, Viper 770 Ultra, 10 gb HD (5400 RPM, ATA ?), ISA 56K modem, 192 MB PC100, floppy.
What I ordered.
AMD 1000 MHZ, Abit KT7A Raid, 256 MB Crucial PC133, 400 watt ps (Antec PP403X), Sound Blaster Gamer 5.1, IBM 45 GB HD (7200 RPM, ATA 100). I will use the DVD, CDRW, Viper, modem, case and floppy from my existing system.
In the next few months I will purchase, TDK Velocd (in place of the CDRW), another IBM HD and a faster video card. Question: What cables and or misc items will I need? I assume that I need a different cable for the drives since I will be running RAID 0. Any help is appreciated. Thanks
Chris

A couple of 80 pin cables.,you should have gotten them with the motherboard. I would also put some extra case fans in there. You may need to pick up a couple of splitters to do this but generally a 400w power supply should haave an abundance of connections already.
This is almost my setup except I have the Antec 300w power supply. You should be good to go

I don't know how roomy that Gateway case is, but if it's anything like my Dell was it's as small as humanly possible that still fits the components inside. Since this is your first system build it might be a good idea for you to spend $80 or so on a nice case, it will reduce a lot of frustration. I'm using an Antec SX830 but there are lots of good ones out there.
