Who is ECS?

Only the worlds largest motherboard manufacturer....

yeah well just like GM. they are quantity > quality.

Man is it a slur to compare GM to garbage like ECS! No comparison there- ECS is more comparable to something like Funai or Daewoo for electronics, or KIA for cars.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with ECS motherboards,as long as you understand that they are not overclocking motherboards.

For running sock they are a very good & cheap alternative to the big name brand makers.

Yes they are usually the boards you find in Fry's computers or some other brand already built computers that are not used for enthusists.
They are just cheap reliable boards for the non DIY'er

A motherboard manufacturer.
But they make fairly cheap products.

I wouldn't say cheap, I would say inexspensive. I have used many of their mobos, and while not great OC'ers, they are dependable.

I've used an ecs board, and it did indeed work without a hitch, and it was only $35 when every other socket A board was $75 to $100.

Agreed!!!

ECS is giving us enthusiasts quite a few innovative products to choose recently. Remember the ECS LGA775 + S939 Combo?

Ditto.
My first DIY motherboard was an ECS.
So long as you dont overclock they are acceptable for starting.
