Working with a friend to put him together a decent build for streaming blizzard games -- how we lookin?

Could go Intel 9600k for future 144hz monitor, but I kinda doubt its worth sacrificing 10 threads (16 vs 6) + extra heat dumping into a tiny case.

AMD 2700X - $279.99
Gigabyte B450I Aorus Pro - $79.99 (Microcenter combo)
AMD RX 580 - $210
G.SKILL TridentZ RGB Series 16GB DDR4 3200 - $140 OOS right now but no rush.
Intel 660p m.2 NVME 512 GB - 99.99
Corsiar 550w 59.99
Metallic Gear Neo 69.99

$940 + tax

Could drop to a 2600x and save 100 bucks. Also thinking about finding a reference/blower 580 for better exhaust.

CPU choice seems well balanced for the use case.
I would debate the GPU choice as to if the GTX 1070 might make more sense as to the power/ heat budget in that case.
Consider the larger SLC cache/ faster XPG SX8200 480GB over the 660p https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?item=9SIA8UC88N3679

If RGB is not a big selling point, consider ripjaws V for a couple bucks less https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231977

Ah RGB means nothing so will look at sets like that one. I figured that was cheap for Ram even without RGB but I guess memory is dropping more than I thought.

A 1070 would be great but over $100 more expensive. I'd actually prefer a 1060 for power/heat issues but if he ever upgrades his monitor, it certainly won't be one with g-sync when the same monitors are 100's less with free sync.

Noted about the SSD, really just thinking about whatever good 500gb nmve drive is around at time of purchase.

Thanks!

as far as freesync/ gsync, I would not get highly excited either way. It does have an impact, but not as much as going up a category in GPU power. (You never know when the tide will shift from team green to team red)

As far as the more expensive 1070 over (1060/ RX580), I would consider that a worthy investment under the assumption that it would be expected to be relatively competitive/ useful until the next iteration of cards come out.

You might want to make sure that combo is actually available. It seems that MC is not bundling the cheaper motherboards anymore. When I was looking for a very similar setup there was no micro-ITX motherboards eligible for the $30 off bundle.

Looking at MC's website right now the only AMD micro-ITX MB eligible for the bundle is the ASUS ROG Strix X470-I which is twice the price.

Thanks for the heads up -- but that Aorus combo works. Just have to add to cart to see. Its actually 119.99 - 30 = 89.99, so the 79.99 is an error in my op.
