I have epox 8k3a+ , used to have 2 stick of samsung pc2700 ram, and now decided to take the plunge and bought the 512 crucial ram pc2700 2.5
and i pluged it in, and boom , it boot into windows and it auto restart , and i chagne to change it down from 2.0 to 2.5 , since my samsung was 2.0 before, now i adjusted to 2.5 , and it still crashes. So i unplug one of the 256, and at 768 ,when i test it out with games, it crashes too , giving something reading memory error ... wat's wrong ? anyone have any ideas ?

if you have read the forums lately, there is a compability problem with crucial ram and nforce 2 boards. Their pc2700 can not go beyond 133 while it supports 166 bus. Since your epox is nforce 2 thats the reason for the random reboot. If you want to find out the error, which I already know is non-page - paging error. Right click my computer go to system properties. Click on the the advance table. click on startup and recovery button. In there, uncheck the auto restart feature. you will see your blue screen error.

Best of luck

Nope, KT333. Very stable board too. I don't know what's wrong TurtleMan, I was able to run 1GB of PC2700 easily at fastest timings on my 8K3A+.

Either the Samsung and Crucial aren't playing nice together or that stick of crucial may be faulty. Go ahead and tryi it with just the Crucial and consider running memtest86 on it to be certain it's not flakey.

Im not sure wat's up, all the memory test up is pretty fine, with a stick of crucial it appeared to be okay ....

when you have both (or all 3) sticks in its fubared (as in curcial with samsung)?

did you check only crucial? (or is that what you meant in last post?)

raise the vdimm? (somtimes it takes more than 2.5v...go to like 2.7v)

when i check the memory, i use this memtest program, and it just ask me how much
memory i want to test, and i just input it 1000. Then i download another program
from download.com call burnintest , and it test memory and it turns out okay too.
so i dunno wat's up...

raise the dimm beyond 2.0 ? tsk stk.. wat's the highest u've go..
i was thinkin maybe i should juss take that 512 down, and do a burnin, with seti or something

Vdimm above 2.0 is standard. Last I checked, DDR runs at 2.5V. Maybe you're thinking VCore.
Try it with just the 512 in the first slot with relaxed timings at 200 FSB. If that still kills your system, your Crucial's dead.
If that does work, pop in your Samsungs, test, then start ramping up speed and cutting down timing until you hit max stable setting. It is quite possible that it won't work too well if you populate the slots in the wrong order and it may not support DDR333 on all three at once.
