Did not see this elsewhere - so...

The Microcenter in Tustin has the 1Ghz G4 Ibook 12" for sale @ $799.99.

On Wed Feb 2nd they had 45 in stock.

Seems like a good deal to me since the ibook is pretty much always $999.00

That's cool. The cheapest I found so far is 1000 - 150 MIR at amazon, but right now they are at 1000 - 100 MIR.

I only hope Microcenter Cambridge doesn't have one when I show up...

Outpost has the 1.2Ghz version for $994. Not sure if it is worth the $195 more.

iBook 1.2Ghz

Edit: Noticed its $999 at Microcenter so no big deal.

The iBooks are rugged, and for this price, it beats many of the sub-1000 notebooks out there.

This is the old model, but that's essentially an educational discount level price. If you want Airport Extreme, you're better off with the new model.

You can get iLife '05 for a nominal fee:

The airport extreme is $80.00 and works fine? 880 for ibook with airport extreme - still better than $1000 - for 200Mhz more, no???

Yes, still a good deal. The edu price for the new iBook is $899 (plus applicable sales tax). Amazon.com has $900 as an after mail-in rebate price, no sales tax.
