Subject kinda says it all. I got an Intel 815EEA motherboard and a 1GHz chip, but the machine is booting up saying its a 533EB chip. I've flashed the BIOS but no go. Any ideas?
Try setting it manually for what it is. Set the FSB at 100 or 133MHz, depending on which model it is.
This has been happening to me on Asus cusl2's also.
I believe it does. Now, the irony to it is, that it's probably unlocked and the board he is using is probably not going to read the cpu properly. Now, if you were to put that into a board where you have control, of the multiplier and fsb, then it will probably work fine.
