1gbit switch/hub/router???

ok,

i have a 100MB "Fritzbox" DSL router/modem which connects to the internet.

The PCs are connected do this 100MB Fritzbox.

Now two of the PCs have 1GBit NICs and right now i just connected mine via the second NIC to them which enables me to VNC/RD to them over a 1Gbit line.

What do i need so i can hook up all PCs with 1Gbit NIC - without the additional connection over the second GBit NIC?

Do i use a "simple" 1GB Switch/Hub before the Fritzbox where i connect all PCs then to this switch? (And then from the switch to the Fritzbox/DSL router) ? Because NAT/DHCP and everything is already in the Fritzbox and the 100MB of the Fritzbox are fine for the DSL anyway.

I'd go w/ jacks suggestion (although not very impressed w/ trendnet) I had problems with SMC a while back but that was years ago and they were mounted wrong (they kept crashing / dieing) but I am reading more and more about linksys devices failing after a year or so and the same w/ netgear.

I tend to think that Cisco is purposefully making linksys and inferior product to pimp its higher end gear, which would be very sad to me as I've love linksys gear for a very long time. and netgear has always been a close 2nd for me so I tend to gravitate towards them but I too am looking for a decent 8 port gig-E switch so i might just give SMC another shot.

I do not know good or bad.

I use the Trendnet between 3 computesr with Vista, onboard Plain Joe Giga NICs, regular 1500 MTU. and I get 47MB/sec. transfer.

So I have no reason to complain.

I've been very happy (almost a year now) with my Encore 8 port ENGHS-800 model. All metal case if that matters to you.
Never needs a reboot and it is moving data 24/7.
