For whatever reason my laptop can only support 1 stick of ram at 400mhz. When two sticks are put it in becomes unstable at 400mhz and must be run at 333mhz. I was wondering I would benefit from 2 GB of RAM despite the decreased speed the ram would have to run at? Any advice is appreciated. -Rob

If you use more than 1GB of ram, then 2GB at a slightly lower clock will perform much better.

If you use less than 1GB of ram, then the clock speed from the one stick will perform a little bit better. You may not be able to notice the difference.

I would go with 2GB and lower clock, but really, it depends on usage and OS.
