1GB of extra memory or BFG 7800?

Hi All,
I have a few bucks burning a hole in my pocket. I was going to get rid of my 2 512 sticks of OCZ platinum memory for 2 1GB sticks of the same. Then I thought maybe I'll upgrade my ATI Radeon X800XL video card to the BFG 7800GT OC. Since my mobo supports Sli, I thought it would be the better choice. System is an AMD 4400X2/Asus A8N Sli Premium.

Yeah I don't really need either but if you had a choice which one would it be? I'm leaning towards the 7800

Thanks,
J.

If we are to assume you are a gamer, the 7800 would be the better choice.

Depends on what games you play.

The last big three (BF2, FEAR, Q4) will really benefit from 2 GBs RAM.

Personally, i prefer smooth hitch/stutter free gameplay at lower settings than stuttering/hitching gameplay @ high settings, so i'd put the RAM in importance.

Exactly my thoughts. And that is why I have 2x1GB sticks on the way right now to replace my 2x512.

What games do you play? If most of them are GPU-limited, the 7800 is the better choice. If you're a heavy BF2 player, get the RAM.

I'd get the 7800GTX to see more of a performance increase over the X800XL. If you can get a 7800GTX, get it. If not, then an extra gig might be better.
