I know it is CAS3, but does this OCZ "Value Series" (OCZ4002048V3DC-K) OCZ "Value Series" 1GB module use the same Winbond chips as the former Value VX like these modules: OCZ4001024WV3DC-K?

Or does that W before the V3 in the model # indicate the Windbond chips on the current Value Series?
And more importantly, will the 2GB kit give the same amount of OC performance?

Thanks.

thats the easy part to answer and the answer is no, not a chance.

the popular 1 gigs now are the ballistix pc4000 which will set you back about 370 i think. or the crucial value 3200 which is like 118 a stick, not kitted.

some of the members at xs are not having alot of luck with either though. some are barely hitting stock 3-4-4-8 250. one guy has got about 275 last i checked, the others are getting 5-10 mhz oc if any. the value is not faring well.

take a look at this mushkie. i got this yesterday and i'm at 2.5-3-3-8, 245 now and i think i can get my goal of 250x11 at those timings. it seems like mushkin must be binning it really well.

apparently its the same chips as the ocz titaniums which is some infineon chip that i know nothing about. only one reviewer had decent results with it but none were using the dfi boards :p

i got it because i know some people who have had very good luck with mushkins on the dfi nf4s and so far it seems great.
