1GB (1024MB X 1) DDR2 533MHz PC 4200 $49 AR

Well, like the trout that can't resist the glittery lure I bit...

The rebates seemed clear enough and I am in urgent need of some additional RAM.

I will try to let you guys know how the rebates go....

No. For one thing this is DDR2 memory. Secondly, AFAIK to run dual channel, the DIMMS need to be nearly identical if not identical, (chip mfg, speed).

edit:
I know they made PC32000 DDR2, but I think it is just SO-DIMMS (Laptop).

I have found that rebates for Ultra products are extremely slow. I have some out there still that were approved almost 5 months ago. Last one I actually got took about 4 months.

the ultra rebates i've done through onrebate.com have been great. maybe because i used the expedited paypal method.

Oops, my misreading.

Yes taking the $$ hit to do the expedited paypal method almost 100% guarantees that your rebate will go through, since most of that cash goes to the rebate processing center.

At that point you go to the top of the list as far as their priorities are concerned.

I've gotten all my Ultra rebates from onrebate, without expedited handling; took about 3 months, though. Their products are so-so, ok for a basic system that doesn't involve much o/c'ing.

I've read on another forum that Ultra rebates stopped using onrebate.com in December.
