I have been trying their 6 month free business plan, but can't seem to like it.

1. It takes 30minutes to make an ftp account😕
2. Their interface is quite un-learned friendly...too much clout
3. I can't check my bandwidth usage
4. a whole host of other things

Is there other hosting, perhaps, better?

I am asking onyl for reference. I use Telnap and Dixiesys.😀
 
I have their six month free thing too (as well as their three year free offer that they had last year too), and I've had no problems with it myself.

My point is that it is way too complicated, and ends up being a clouted ftp-only account.

well, at one point I was thinking of paying for their services.

They SAY it takes 30 minutes. But mine are normally activated instantly.

3. I can't check my bandwidth usage

It's under billing --> Expense Tracker (pic) They don't show days where bandwidth usage < 100MB.

Besides, I normally max out my line(4mbps) when downloading stuff, so I'm happy 🙂
 
They seem pretty fast, but yes their control panel blows monkey butt and is incredibly slow even on very high speed connections.
 
I signed up for the 3 years free thing a while back, but it never seemed to work right. Their control panel was way too slow, I couldnt ftp in for some reason, mabey I was retarted. But there are tons of smaller hosts that have equal or better service - big business isn't always better when it comes to customer service/appreciation.
 
I used them for a while and found them to be unreliable and very slow at time. Just really inconsistent. I shopped around adn ended up going with linitech.com for my sites.

I got a reseller account with them and have been quite happy. Plus thier tech support is real techs who know what they are doing!
