I was checking out that link and I though to myself, " I wonder what kind of nut buy's something like that. what else does he buy? so I was looking through his other purchases and found a persian rug. Then I thought. I like Persian rugs... now I just spent $86 bucks on a damn rug that doesn't matcha thing in my freaking house...

Look at the bid history, this wasn't just some bum that shot it up through the roof. The second bid was at 300 and it just shot up from there, including a bid of over 4,000 by a guy with the screen name "beercanman". That's crazy.

Here's a thought. the winner could have come to some sort of agreement with the seller for a price or trade and then bid that amount to secure the auction.

After looking at the bid history it's clear that this was a highly contested item that people wanted???

Actually I believe it is valuable. I have no idea where you would go to find out, but that is a task for Google.

is this for real? I can't believe that a beer can is worth this. For 19K I'd rummage through some grandpa's basement

o and djheater... a persian rug for $86? What was like a 1x1" rug? Maybe a picture of a persian rug? Persian rugs go well into the tens of thousands. In fact last week I almost had a heart attack when I spilt red wine on his $60,000 persian rug. The only thing preventing my bankruptcy was some magic salt he poured on that absorbed 100% of the red wine. It was amazing.

I can't even think of a place you can buy any rug for $86... maybe a bad hair piece. Is that the sort of rug you meant?

A $25 auction that went to $19,000!!!!

Can someone tell us what the deal is with this beer can? It's not even that old. Any collector's/hobbyists know about this? The circumdstances of this auction seem dubious... like the $25 starting bid.
